Terms of service

These terms apply to Clefday, operated by UNATTACHED LIMITED, a company registered in Hong Kong. By creating a studio or booking through a teacher’s page you agree to them.
The service
Clefday helps independent teachers publish booking pages and websites, manage lessons, apply their own studio policies and send invoices and reminders.
Plans and payment
- Free: for studios with up to 5 students taking lessons, with the features listed on our home page. Pro: $12 a month or $120 a year (plus any tax that applies), with any number of students and teachers and the extra features listed on our home page.
- New studios get Pro free for 30 days, without a card. After that a studio is on Free unless it subscribes.
- Pro is paid in advance by card through Stripe and renews automatically every month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Plan & billing; Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Payments aren’t refunded for part of a period, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while. If it can’t be collected, the studio moves to Free.
- Moving to Free never deletes anything. Students already taking lessons carry on; new students, text messages, the assistant, AI website writing, your own domain, Google Calendar sync and extra teachers need Pro. Your website stays online at its clefday.com address (yourname.clefday.com).
- We’ll email you at least 30 days before a price change for your plan, and the new price applies from your next renewal after that.
Teachers
- You are responsible for your lessons, your studio policies, the prices you set and your relationship with families.
- Payments go directly from families to you. We do not process, hold or guarantee payments, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a family.
- You must have a lawful basis to contact the families you add, and you must not use the service to send unsolicited or marketing messages.
- You are responsible for what your website says, including text drafted with AI: check it before you publish. Only use photos and text you have the right to use, and only connect domain names you control.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Families
When you book through a teacher’s page you agree to that teacher’s studio policy, which is shown before you sign up. Questions about lessons, fees or refunds go to your teacher.
Text messages (SMS)
- Program: Clefday lesson texts. Clefday (operated by UNATTACHED LIMITED) sends them on behalf of the music teacher’s studio you booked with: lesson reminders and, if your teacher turns them on, notices of lessons the teacher cancels, new invoices, payment reminders, next-term invitations and studio closures. No marketing.
- You get texts only if you tick the box to agree, on the teacher’s booking page or your family page. Agreeing is not required to book. After you agree you get one confirmation text.
- Message frequency varies with your lesson schedule, usually a few messages a month.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop texts at any time; you’ll get one message confirming it and no more texts. You can also turn texts off on your family page.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact support@clefday.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your mobile number and consent are not shared with third parties for marketing. See our privacy policy and how Clefday text messages work.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no unlawful content, spam, attempts to access other accounts, or interfering with the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Clefday running and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms and will notify teachers of material changes. You can stop using the service at any time; teachers can ask us to delete their account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.
